Mesa Carrier in the Andean Shamanic Tradition
Jody Cleveland has been a registered nurse since 1985, working for 20 years in critical care and most recently in pain management. She is certified in Healing Touch and as an Usui Reiki Master Teacher and Karuna® Reiki Master Teacher. In 2007 she completed a sixteen month intensive in Andean shamanic practices for personal healing and world service and is a mesa carrier in the Andean Medicine Tradition. She has been practicing and teaching Reiki since 2004, and has had the opportunity to offer energy healing to her patients, staff and clients as a complement to their traditional medical treatment in acute care settings and the operating room as well as in private practice. In June 2009, she traveled to Glastonbury, England for her Karuna® Reiki Master Teacher training, where she received her attunements at Stonehenge.
Her primary Reiki training has been with The International Center for Reiki Training, and she has studied with several other teachers as well.
She has trained over 400 Reiki students, including 30 children under the age of 10 and 40 students at the Master and Master Teacher level. Her students include nurses, massage therapists, veterinarians and physicians. She has taught at her own practice as well as at The Hudson Valley School of Massage. She has presented programs on energy healing at the State University of New York at New Paltz and Dominican College. In July, 2009, she taught Reiki for Cornerstone Hospice to staff members of Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida.
She continues to advance her knowledge of and experience with Reiki, earth medicine and meditation by attending, teaching and facilitating at many health and holistic events in the private and public sector. She has developed programs for children and veterinary practitioners.
